MUMBAI: The Future Group today announced plans to create strong Indian brands across categories like FMCG, consumer durable & electronics and apparel  categories with a projected revenue from consumer brands of Rs 10,000 crore by 2012.

Kishore Biyani, group chief executive officer, Future Group, said: "Having achieved success in some of our consumer brands like Tasty Treat, Fresh & Pure, DJ&C and Koreo, we felt that it was the right time to extend it to broader categories such as health & beauty, dairy, apparel and accessories. Hence, we have drawn up an ambitious plan of achieving Rs 10,000 crore in the next four-five years. Through our consumer brands, we will be able to offer our consumers the best products at reasonable prices."

The group is also planning marketing investment of close to Rs 200 crore by 2012.
